Osteopathy is a form of drug free, non invasive manual medicine that focuses on total body health by treating and strengthening the musculoskeletal framework, which includes the joints, muscles and spine. It's aim is to effect the body's nervous, circulatory and lymphatic systems. It is holistic in approach and aims to treat the whole body, not just the 'problem' area.
The practice of chiropractic focuses on the relationship between structure (primarily the spine) and function (as coordinated by the nervous system) and how that relationship affects the preservation and restoration of health. It is a system of therapy which holds that disease results from a lack of normal nerve function and which employs manipulation and specific adjustments of body structures.
Massage is the manipulation of the soft tissues of the body with the purpose of normalising those tissues and surrounding structures. Massage uses manual techniques that apply pressure and movement to the muscles. There are dozens of types of massage, but we primarily focus on remedial massage and a hot stone massage.
Acupuncture involves the insertion of extremely thin needles through your skin at strategic points on your body. Acupuncture is most commonly used to treat pain. Traditional Chinese medicine explains acupuncture as a technique for balancing the flow of energy or life force — known as qi or chi (CHEE) — believed to flow through pathways (meridians) in your body. By inserting needles into specific points along these meridians, acupuncture practitioners believe that your energy flow will re-balance.
